Earthbound Grant for DTU Student Startups
Are you a student at DTU with a climate tech startup idea that could address a global climate challenge? The Earthbound Student Grant offers up to 150,000 DKK in soft funding to help you take your project to the next level.

This grant is for
DTU student startups that seek funding to hit their next key milestones, whether for prototyping, testing, legal fees, salaries, conference expenses, or marketing.
Who can apply?
- One of your cofounders must be a DTU student or have graduated from DTU within the past year.
- Your startup should address a globally recognised climate challenge – see our Portfolio Themes for inspiration.
- You must be enrolled in a maturing program or accelerator within the DTU ecosystem (X-Tech+, Skylab Incubator, Danish Tech Challenge, or GreenUp).
If this sounds like your startup, the Earthbound Student Grant could be exactly what you need to take your startup further.
Previous Student Grantees have used the grant for: Prototyping, facilities, & testing, legal costs, salary & accounting, conference and travel expenses for reaching customer, website and visual design as well as grant writing assistance.
- If you receive the Earthbound Student Grant, you'll also become part of DTU Earthbound’s climate tech community and learning opportunities.
- This includes: Invitations to Earthbound events and community lunches with other startups.
- Access to tools and training for impact assessment to improve your project.
What we expect from you:
- You need a CVR number to receive the funding (you don’t need to have one when applying).
- A detailed and realistic budget covering up to 150,000 DKK for a maximum period of 12 months.
- A clear overview of the milestones (OKR’s) aligned with your budget.
- You will be asked to sign de minimis declaration if accepted for the grant.
How to apply?
- Complete the “Startup Case Description” template.
- Complete the budget template, detailing how you’ll use the grant, and the milestones (OKRs) connected to your funding.
- Submit your documents through the “Apply Now” button before the deadline on November 11.

Selection Process:
Application deadline November 11, 2024 (at midnight).
An internal grant committee will review based on climate impact potential, team motivation, and commercial viability.
We might reach out to hear your pitch and have a short interview before the final acceptance.
Accepted cases will be announced max 2 weeks after the application deadline.
