Reformable

Reformable is a technology company specialising in efficient CO2 reforming, turning carbon dioxide into renewable fuels and chemicals. Their innovative approach overcomes the limitations of traditional methods, making the process economically viable for large-scale use. Built on cutting-edge research and collaborations with industry leaders in thermal catalysis, Reformable has developed a molten salt technology that prevents coke formation during the conversion of biogas into syngas, a key component for producing liquid fuels like methanol and synthetic diesel. Their vision is to drive the next generation of renewable fuels, offering a scalable, cost-effective solution that supports the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Why it Matters

The technology addresses a critical challenge in renewable energy by efficiently converting biogas CO2 into valuable fuels, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Large biogas facilities currently release millions of cubic metres of CO2 into the atmosphere. Reformable's solution could transform up to 2 million tonnes of CO2 annually in Denmark alone, equivalent to the emissions of 150,000 people. By enhancing the value of biogas and cutting emissions, their innovation plays a vital role in global climate change mitigation and accelerates the shift towards sustainable energy sources.
