Sorption Booster

A company focused on enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of ammonia production through their innovative sorption technology. This breakthrough enables ammonia to be separated at room temperature, significantly improving production rates and lowering costs, especially for green ammonia derived from renewable energy sources. By making local, small-scale ammonia production more feasible and cost-effective, Sorption Booster aims to drive the transition away from fossil fuels in ammonia production.

Why it Matters

Ammonia is the second most produced chemical in the world, yet 99% of it is currently synthesised using hydrogen from fossil fuels, contributing to 1.5% of global CO2 emissions. Sorption Booster’s technology offers a solution by enabling green ammonia production, reducing dependency on fossil fuels and ensuring more secure, localised supply chains. With the potential to cut ammonia prices by up to 11% in small-scale production, their innovation supports the shift towards renewable energy and decentralised production, helping to lower emissions and enhance sustainability in the ammonia industry.
